Camino Extravaganza: incredible, extravagant, once-in-a-lifetime packages on the Camino de Santiago at affordable prices!
The Camino de Santiago is an amazing journey. It traverses some of the most beautiful parts of Western Europe going through great cities such as Pamplona, Santiago de Compostela, Lisbon, Porto, Leon, Burgos and so many more. It also passes through many very important pilgrimage towns including Saint Jean Pied de Port, Le Puy en Velay, Logrono and O’Cebreiro.
Since 2006, Follow the Camino, have designed new innovative ways to walk, cycle or horse ride the Camino, and are continuously looking for new ways for you to experience this great pilgrimage. In 2013, we launched the Camino Extravaganza.
Within this new range you will get VIP access to incredible events, festivals or historical monuments always linked to the Camino but with a quirky, unexpected twist.
Imagine a Camino to which we add something exceptional, something extravagant and you have our Follow the Camino’s special Camino Extravaganza.
For instance, on the French Way, we add the San Fermin festival, which takes places from the 6th July to the 14th July, to our Camino section 1, from St Jean Pied de Port to Pamplona. Enjoy the rush and energy of this festival after experiencing the serenity and beauty of the Pyrenees.
For the last 100km from Sarria to Santiago on the Camino Frances, we add the Feast of Saint James, which takes place on the 25th July, but has a full programme of activities around this date. During this festival there is a real carnival atmosphere in Santiago that makes arriving after your walk all the more exciting as the whole city seems to be celebrating with you.
If you have any suggestion or have an idea for a unique & extravagant trip we should organise on the Camino, feel free to let us know and we will organise it for you!
The Camino Extravaganza really holds its name. Walking the Heming-Way and staying in Pamplona for the San Fermin was wonderful, unique and extravagant experience. I still haven’t gotten into grasp with the whole experience but I will certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to do something unique. Do it you will not regret it!
