From Sarria to Santiago de Compostela

Our "Easy Days" trip makes it possible to absolutely everybody to experience the Way of St James / Camino de Santiago and reach the world-known Santiago de Compostela. On an "Easy Days" trip, walking days are shortened to an average of 2hours/10 kilometres. You can also decide how to organise your day, starting at the time you like with no pressure about starting too early. The daily walk will fill a half day, leaving the other half free. With this walking holiday, you will have a chance to walk the last 50 kilometres to Santiago de Compostela and still experience the feeling of being a pilgrim of modern times.

On this section, we follow the last 110 kilometres of the French Way / Camino Frances, the most traditional of all the pilgrims' ways to Santiago de Compostela and the best known internationally. On this trip, you are guaranteed to get the Compostela, the certificate given to anybody completing at least the last 100 kilometres to Santiago. The journey begins in Sarria and continues all along the French Way, through the green hilly landscapes of Galicia and typical rural villages. Finally, you reach Santiago de Compostela, the heart and hub of all pilgrimages on the Way of St. James.

Everyday, during the walk, you are guaranteed a high level of comfort and gastronomy. The Camino is clearly marked with the “Scallop Shell” showing you the way. We have split the stages to short distances, so daily walks are of 9 kilometres on average, which means there are accessible to absolutely everybody.

HOTEL AND GUESTHOUSE GRADES – HOW WE CHOOSE YOUR ACCOMMODATION

An Easy Day trip allows you to walk less than the usual distance each day. Therefore, accommodation on Easy Days trips is more limited, as there may not be a medium-sized town in which to book you at the end of each day.

When there is no accommodation available (Morgade and Ventas de Naron), it is necessary to come back to the previous town (Sarria and Portomarin, respectively). You must organise the transfer by calling a taxi who will pick you up and drop you off the next day. Details of exact location and taxi contacts will be supplied to you. These taxi transfers are not included in the price.

We need, at times, to consider guesthouses rather than hotels. However, our guesthouses are selected based on comfort, location, friendliness and character. We will book what we consider to be the best available accommodation at each stage.
